About The Game

Nobody hires a rookie pilot, which is the problem at the center of Enarian Orbital Command from Enarian Studios. What you do have is an inherited derelict mining station hidden in an asteroid field, and the only way to become useful is to lead wings of fighters, bombers, frigates and capital ships yourself. Mining and salvage ships feed your refineries, and the money that comes out of them buys upgrades for your own hull and for the leaders of your wings. Rescue pilots and you can field up to four extra wings, each equipped with its own special abilities. Enarian Studios also let you walk the station itself, spending the salvage you bring back on your own hull and on the ships your wing leaders fly, so a good haul changes two things at once before the next contract lands. The job board is where the strategy side becomes a career, since station defense and repair work, convoy escorts, strikes on enemy installations and espionage contracts all scale with your renown and level. Contracts pay in loot and recovered hulls, and those unlock weapon and utility slots, shields and armour rather than sitting in a shop waiting for cash. You can share the spoils with your wing leaders, which is how the harder contracts stop being out of reach. Orders work at two levels: one command for the whole formation, or individual control when a bomber needs to be walked into a gap in the fire. Integrated graphics will not run this, so the Vulkan 1.1 requirement is worth taking seriously before you buy. Build 26345695 is the version currently offered and its patch notes record what Enarian Studios rebalanced in the last update.
