About The Game

Cards are your only weapon in Into the Crypt, the first person deckbuilder from Megaglope Studios, and the three depths you descend shift around you between runs. Doors, chests and breakable treasures all answer to the right card or the right key, so a hand is inventory as much as it is damage. Three classes set the tone: the Berserker stacks Fury and Overload, the Alchemist carries ingredients and brews potions during combat, and the Druid works alongside Sheaf and Gob with Offering as the payoff. Over four hundred ninety five cards and effects sit against more than one hundred fifty five enemies, where Protectors shield allies and Summoners call reinforcements. Bosses change their tactics as a fight goes on and leave Depth Rites behind for you to take. The page includes screenshots of the depths, a video of a run and the system requirements.

Sheaf and Gob are the clearest example of how far the classes commit to their own economy, because a Druid hand has to make room for two companions while an Alchemist hand makes room for reagents. Deck management stays active: you upgrade cards, imbue selected ones and banish the rest, so thinning is a real decision on every floor rather than a tidy up at the end. Artifacts add rules that bend a build, merchants sell into it, and event choices plus minigames sit between the fights. When a teammate falls you can rob their tomb, which turns someone else loss into your own gain. In co op you can inspect your partner hand, so planning becomes a conversation instead of two solitaires in one room. Keys and cards overlap constantly, so a hand can be locked on opening things instead of killing them. Megaglope Studios keeps the three depths changing the pressure rather than only the artwork. Version build 26361196 carries the current state of the game and its patch notes describe what Megaglope Studios adjusted after release.
