Hunger is the timer in Abyss Ring, the survival roguelike from Northern Studio LLC, because the dungeon does not care how far down you are if you have nothing to eat. Every monster you kill becomes a meal, and cooking it is the difference between another floor and a run that ends on an empty stomach. The depths generate fresh each descent, and over two hundred equipment pieces decide whether you fight cautiously or push into a room you cannot leave quickly. The ring itself is the clock, since each circuit around the levels tightens what you can carry and how long you can stay down. Northern Studio LLC keeps the rules readable: kill, cook, eat, descend, and only the equipment you are holding comes back with you if you reach a safe floor. Equipment with a second job is what makes that item pool feel deliberate, since plenty of the two hundred pieces change how cooking or combat behaves instead of only adding damage. Artifacts push it further, bending recipes and fights at the same time, so a whole build can be assembled around a single object found three floors down. The goal stays the deepest floor, and every run is a negotiation between descending now and eating first. Combat and cooking share the same inventory, which is why a bag stuffed with parts leaves no room for the artifact you would rather have picked up two floors ago. Route knowledge matters more than memorized stats, because the layout is new every time but the hunger is not.
