About The Game

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl Cost of Hope is an open-world survival shooter expansion from GSC Game World, the studio behind the long-running series. It sends players back into the Zone for a massive, nonlinear expedition. The subtitle sets the tone: this is a journey where hope has a price, and the wasteland is ready to collect it.

The expansion is built around a new expedition into the Zone, and it keeps the series' signature mix of exploration, combat, and atmosphere. Anomalies still tear at the landscape, artifacts still gleam in the dirt, and the factions that carve up the territory still have their own ideas about who belongs where. Players who know the base game will feel right at home, while the new content gives veterans a reason to walk the familiar roads again.

The design leans on a nonlinear structure. Rather than marching down a single scripted path, players choose how to approach the expedition, which routes to take, and which dangers to risk. That open structure is the heart of the series, and this expansion builds its story around it. No two expeditions have to look the same. The result is a chapter that rewards curiosity and punishes carelessness in equal measure.

This release arrives as the v2.0 build with all DLC included, which makes it a complete package for anyone looking to step into the Zone. The world remains a hostile, irradiated place where every stash of supplies matters and every encounter could be the last, and the expansion layers fresh objectives on top of that unforgiving foundation. Supplies, weapons, and artifacts all feed the loop of risk and reward.

    Fixed the issue with the too sensitive left and right sticks on the controllers on the PC platform.
     
    Fixed the issue when the system notifications could stay on screen and do not disappear.
     
    Fixed the issue when the night time could suddenly stuck during the playthrough.
     
    Adjusted hearing of the NPCs during foggy, rainy, and thundery weather conditions.
     
    Changed the behavior of the particles after destroying pseudobrain tanks.
