CONTROL Resonant is a supernatural action role playing game with hack and slash combat and open world elements, developed by Remedy Entertainment as the sequel to the multi award winning CONTROL. The hero of the new chapter is Dylan Faden, who spent years in confinement at the hands of the Federal Bureau of Control and now emerges into a warped Manhattan at the peak of a paranatural crisis. A mysterious cosmic entity is altering the fundamental aspects of reality itself, and Dylan must harness his new found powers to carry the fight to the countless threats overwhelming the city. The districts are overrun by the corrupting influence of the chaotic Hiss, by an invasive micro organism known as the Mold, and by other twisted paranatural dangers that bend physics and common sense alike.

The gameplay trades the shifting corridors of the Bureau for expansive zones of a transformed Manhattan, and puts melee driven hack and slash action at the center of combat. Dylan grows into his abilities as the story unfolds, unlocking the full potential of powers that turn every fight into a supernatural performance, where parries, dashes and weapon forms decide the rhythm of the battle. Exploration of the city districts rewards the curious, because each zone hides its own threats and secrets, from Hiss corrupted citizens to colonies of the spreading Mold, and the environment itself reacts to the crisis of reality. The sequel keeps the strange atmosphere the series is famous for: a story full of bureau mysteries, unsettling science fiction and a world where architecture and gravity are only suggestions. Progression, narrative and combat feed each other, so every new power rewrites both the way Dylan fights and the way the player reads the mystery of the cosmic entity behind the collapse. The warped city itself behaves like a living puzzle that reacts to every mission.
