About The Game

The game One Night with CLARA is a compact romance visual novel created by the independent studio Kissend. The story starts in a completely familiar modern setting where the main character spends a quiet evening browsing a dating application. One match stands out from the rest, a charming girl named Clara, and after a warm exchange of messages the two decide to meet in person. From this point the player lives through a single evening that can develop in very different directions depending on small daily decisions. The couple can enjoy dinner at a restaurant, take a slow walk along the beach, or end the day with a private dinner at the home of Clara. Attentiveness, kindness, and well timed compliments form the backbone of the plot, and the way you treat your companion directly shapes what the night eventually offers. The narrative stays short, simple, and easy to step into, which makes it an easy story to finish in a single sitting without any prior experience with the genre.

The gameplay follows the classic visual novel formula while presenting everything through full three dimensional real time rendering instead of flat static pictures. Characters move and react live in each scene, and the key romantic moments are fully animated, which gives the small story a surprisingly polished presentation for its size. Between scenes the player chooses dialogue options and actions, steering the mood of the date and unlocking different reactions from Clara depending on the behavior of the hero. There are no puzzles, no reflex tests, and no resource management, so nothing distracts from the atmosphere of a long awaited first meeting. A generous set of achievements invites curious players to replay the evening several times and explore every branch the script offers. The project works especially well as a first visual novel for newcomers, since it asks for almost no time commitment, delivers a complete animated experience, and keeps its tone light and warm from the opening message to the final scene.
