To the Wives Who Were Heroes is an adult anime style RPG published by 072 Project, mixing science fiction stakes with a very personal story. The protagonist, Ryan, receives a vision of the Demon Queen returning to life, and the warning sends him searching for the only people who ever stood against such a threat: the heroes of a war that ended a decade ago. Peace made them ordinary. The former champions are now mature wives, their power faded with the quiet years, and drawing that strength back requires the forbidden technique known as Spirit Summon, a ritual of intimacy and trust that no respectable academy would ever dare teach. Ryan must rebuild bonds with each of them, convince them that the world is worth fighting for again, and decide what kind of man he intends to be while doing it. The science fiction frame gives the romance real stakes, since failure here means far more than a broken heart.

The gameplay alternates between dungeon exploration and relationship building, with both halves feeding the fight against the returning Demon Queen. Dungeons hold treasure chests and enemies worth grinding, and the materials and experience claimed there translate into more powerful weapons for the road ahead. Party strength grows as the heroines recover their old abilities, turning a scattered group of retired legends back into a genuine fighting force, and the dungeons grow more dangerous as the resurrection draws closer. Among the most interesting features is how directly the intimate scenes connect to combat progression, making relationships a literal source of power.
