NBA 2K27 is the latest entry in the long running basketball simulation from Visual Concepts, published by 2K, carrying the franchise's blend of court action and roster building into another year. It arrives as the annual appointment for players who treat the NBA as a twelve month hobby.

On the court, the game keeps the balance the series is known for. Matches mix arcade accessibility with simulation depth, and momentum swings keep every quarter alive. The management layer gives every season goals that outlast the final buzzer. Developing players, shaping a roster, and chasing the next edge keep the hours between games as busy as the games themselves.

MyTEAM returns with a rule change worth noting: in this edition, all cards and packs are unauctionable. The collection is built through play and The Exchange rather than through the market, with Ultra Edition owners promised a guaranteed 98 overall player card in December 2026 and a guaranteed Invincible card in May 2027. Building a lineup becomes a matter of time invested, not money spent on trading.

The editions set the tone for the year. Pre purchasing the Standard Edition includes 10,000 Virtual Currency, while the Ultra Edition bundles 135,000 VC, a Season 1 Pro Pass, and a Summer Pass covering Seasons 7 through 9. Ultra buyers also get up to nine days of advanced access before release.
