Enter a house where every clue feels wrong. Rehaunted from Cauchemar is a first-person detective thriller where investigating a brutal crime scene becomes a descent into psychological horror. Detective Connor Raines arrives at a seemingly routine call, only to find a house where the evidence refuses to add up.

The investigation is the core of the experience. The player uses an ultraviolet flashlight to reveal hidden biological traces, a magnifying glass to examine personal belongings, a camera to document the scene, and an evidence board to map the connections. The fingerprints, blood trails, and hidden audio recordings directly contradict each other. There is no single correct reading of the crime, and the game does not tell the player what to think.

The playthrough takes two to three hours and shifts from forensic investigation to psychological horror as the supernatural elements emerge. The house is empty but not uninhabited, and the feeling of being watched grows with every piece of evidence uncovered. The radio crackles with the voice of a colleague, and the player's dialogue choices reshape how the story is understood.

The cinematic visuals and realistic sound design create a constant low hum of anxiety. The contrast between the rational detective work and the gradual descent into nightmare is the game's strongest effect. The player builds theories, tests them, and watches as the evidence refuses to cooperate. The endings are not prescriptive; the player walks away with their own version of the truth.
