In reality, Undercoders the studio developing Denshattack is far from Japanese, yet they enlisted numerous specialists from the Land of the Rising Sun to help create the game. The story follows a group of outcasts attempting to liberate Japan from the oppression of a corporate dystopia while traveling the country on a train that defies the laws of physics. Trains hold a special place in modern Japanese culture, making the choice of this mode of transport as a symbol of revolution not only intriguing but surprisingly inspired. Despite initial appearances, the game offers far more than a standard on rails runner. Every track has a beginning and an end, often reachable via multiple routes. Not all of them stick to the railway tracks; expect rail drifting, wall sliding, and even semi open world levels.
