Sand, a knife and a castle somewhere past the horizon: that is the whole promise of Arabian Gulf, a single player survival action game from IVDev. The store page names three things and stops there, a dynamic desert, relentless enemies and a castle holding legendary treasure, so the shape of the game is clear before the first step. The desert works as the antagonist as much as the enemies do, and the tools on offer are basic by design, which keeps every encounter short and close rather than a long exchange of firepower. There is no base to fall back on and no map full of friendly towns, only terrain, threats and a goal that stays in sight above the dunes. The page lists the system requirements, screenshots of those dunes and a gameplay video, and all three are worth checking before the first run.

Combat is direct: a handful of weapons, limited reach and enemies that arrive in groups. Conditions wear the character down between the fights, so the route matters as much as the reflexes, and dangerous ground can end a run faster than a bad swing. With basic tools and a desert around them, distance becomes the resource that matters most in a fight. The castle is the only landmark named on the page, which keeps the journey pointed in one direction. The game shipped in May 2025 and has stayed small in scope, which suits a session that lasts an evening rather than a month.
