About The Game

Culdcept BEGINS is a strategy game that blends board-game-style movement with card-based combat. While a dice roll determines your movement, the outcome depends on the cards you’ve prepared and the decisions you make. By capturing territories, summoning creatures, and casting spells, you navigate a system where chance sets the stage, and clever combinations allow you to turn the situation to your advantage.

The game features hundreds of cards, each serving a specific purpose. Creatures can claim empty territories or contest those held by opponents; items provide support in battle; and spells can shift the standing of players on the board. With various card properties and elemental affinities, there is ample room to experiment and discover powerful synergies. Success requires looking beyond the immediate encounter you must also consider how your current move will impact future turns across the board.

The story unfolds on the continent of Bavrashka, centered around the Royal Academy of Cepters. After transferring to the academy, a character named Kamur gains recognition for his talents and eventually joins the Royal Guard. As conflicts begin to threaten the entire continent, Kamur discovers an awakening power linked to ancient stone tablets. As you meet various characters, you’ll master an updated gameplay system that preserves the series signature fusion of board gaming and card-based tactics.
