About The Game

Southern Africa in the late 1970s provides the backdrop for Red Tears: Angola, an open world stealth shooter developed by Arun Haines. You play a fighter trying to survive in hostile territory during the bush warfare era, where every patrol, outpost and road can turn into a threat. The project pairs a historical setting with fast paced first person action.

Each encounter leaves the approach up to you. Stay silent, use the environment and eliminate targets without raising the alarm, or go loud when the situation demands it. Brutal takedown animations underline the harsh tone, while an arsenal of Cold War era weapons and gadgets gives you room for different playstyles. Equipment can jam, and crafting helps you keep your kit in working order when you are far from any support. Choosing when to fight and when to slip away is a constant calculation.

The world itself is nonlinear and full of moving parts. Dynamic patrols roam the map, outposts can be attacked for intel and resources, and control of locations shifts between factions as the conflict unfolds. Captured positions become staging points for the next operation. Random events such as hostage situations, cargo convoys and ambushes appear as you travel, keeping each journey unpredictable. Assassination targets wander the regions as well, and tracking them down requires patience and preparation.

Information is a resource of its own. An intel gathering system slowly lifts the fog of war on your map, revealing where enemies operate and where opportunities wait. Working alongside your faction, you push the conquest forward one location at a time, while chaotic AI skirmishes can break out between rival groups at any moment.

Released by Arun Haines within the action genre, the game focuses on immersion through small details, from healing animations to the tension of staying hidden while enemy soldiers pass within reach.
