About The Game

Project Zomboid — is an explosive mix of survival horror and traditional role-playing adventure. In the game, everything is tied to the struggle of the protagonist for his own life in a world undergoing the invasion of bloodthirsty zombies. In terms of visualization, we have an isometric 2D «walker» with an open world, changing randomly, a developed crafting system, and the need to interact with other characters. Fighting hunger, cold, depression, and other things is commonplace. According to the plot, the events of the game take place in Kentucky, namely in Knox County, in the United States of America. During the disaster, which led to an epidemic of a dangerous virus, the lion’s share of the population turned into bloodthirsty walking corpses. Those who have not been infected, are forced to survive in a world overrun by zombies.

NOTE. Uploaded version: 4 November 2026 [v42.22]. This is Full Release and latest version of game. The game is already Packaged in Installer and ready to run the game after install, read the instruction below.

The player takes control of one of these survivors, and tries to hold out as long as possible. The game ends when the user’s character dies. Project Zomboid pc latest version implements a gradual complication system. If at the start of the game it will be relatively easy to survive, then closer to the middle this process will turn into something unbearable even for the most experienced players: zombies gradually become stronger and faster, water and electricity disappear, and the products dry out at an incredible speed or simply go bad. True, one can adapt to this state of affairs.

Build 41 currently contains:
New gameplay styles: Builder, Brawler and Survivor
More deadly ‘Survivor’ (Survival) gameplay balance – player can be dragged down by horde and feasted upon etc.
New survivor abilities: sitting, sneaking, sprinting, jogging, racking, reloading, climbing, fence-jumping, collapsing and much much more.
New combat, new weapons, new difficulty balance.
New character creation – many, many different new clothing options both on spawn and discoverable in the world as loot or on zombies.
New zombie behaviour: feasting on recent corpses, lolling against walls, falling over fences etc.
Blood system that progressively bloodies bodies and clothing of survivors and zombies
New injury system – movement and combat visibly hampered when injured. Lacerations now possible, an injury state that lies between bites and scratches.
Improved gunplay: green/red aiming outline, new guns, improved racking and reloading, increased gun loot spawn.
Zombie Death Scenes – zombies discovered in the situations in which people died. Prayer meetings, sports-viewing parties, survivor zeds wearing backpacks etc.
Situational zombie type/clothing and inventories – cop zeds in police station, firemen zeds in burnt buildings, Chef zeds in restaurant kitchens, bride and groom zeds at a wedding ceremony in church etc.
Clothing protection: different clothing provides different levels of protection from zombie attacks.
Visibly ripped and damaged clothing.
New Sims-style cutaway vision system.
Vehicle handling improvements, resizing and appearance tweaks.
Updated, remastered and improved Kentucky-themed soundtrack. Original music still in rotation, and also accessible through game options.
New SFX: weaponry, zombie moans etc.
New water visuals – including visible flow direction.
New puddle system during heavy rain.
Broken glass and related injuries.
Garage doors may be opened / closed and shake when hit.
New Challenge maps: Film Set and Kingsmouth Vacation Island
3D Store Mannequins – can be dressed however you like
Working washing machines and driers
Server-side saving: MP save system now in a server-side database. Offline SP-side, also means no more lost cars via irl power outages.
New game cursor
New level-up sound, and tweaked levelling system.
Faint isometric aiming cursor that shows where you’re aiming in iso space.

- Finalized first draft of a system for reverse engineering recipes from items.
- If a player can learn any recipes from an item with this system, right-clicking on the item will provide a right-click option with a light bulb option to "Research Craft".
- Additionally, in debug mode, right-clicking will reveal all of the information regarding researchable recipes.
- Researching an item's craftRecipe will also grant the same amount of xp as performing that craftRecipe would provide.
- If an item has researchable recipe(s) for a player, the item's tooltip will include, in prominent good-color text, that information.
- Includes Tech-tree-progression via item recipe research for tongs (from pliers and vise grips); shears and scissors; and lower tier knife progression; many baseball bat, spiked club, and mace type weapon recipes; tree branch, wooden stick, large branch/cudgel, medium handle, baseball bat and short bat type weapons, axes, and fleshing tools.

- Improved Vertical Aiming.
- Added up and down aiming angles for weapons
- Added missing event back into HandgunDefault.xml to properly transition zombies to correct hit reaction

- Added HandWeapon.isSelectFire() and .cycleFireModes()
- Pressing shift + rack (default x) will now cycle through fire modes for select fire weapons
- Guns can now have a safety by adding "Safe" to the list of fire mode possibilities (none of the base guns currently have this)

- Added a Wooden Masons Trowel and a recipe for carving one.
- Added a Bone Fleshing Tool and a recipe for carving one.
- Added large and small plant drying racks made from sticks and rags; this is so players can build them without needing twine.
- Double-clicking an entry in the list of builds or handcraft panel will build it.
- Added Blacksmith, Butcher, Leather, MobileLibrary, and Glass Vans.
- The Blacksmith Van has smithing-related supplies and literature as well as most of the equipment found in the Metalworking van.
