Nine lanterns on a porch rail, eight of them burning. Lantern Hollow is a cozy horror mystery visual novel from Entropy Digital Entertainment, set in an Appalachian town of two hundred people that keeps a light on every porch and does not discuss why. Your great aunt ran the inn for fifty one years and you met her twice, both times at funerals. Now eleven rooms, a wraparound porch and a green cloth bound register that goes back to 1958 belong to you. The register carries a column headed departed and that column has been empty since April 4, 1961. Guests arrive after midnight, soaked, polite and a little uncertain about the year. The mayor sets the terms, the deputy keeps three missing person files with the inn as the last address, and the folklorist in room three has been leaving Friday for four Fridays in a row. Nobody lies to you, and that is the problem. Four evening companions offer four versions of the curse and every one of them turns out to be true. Evenings go to one person, and the route you pick decides which explanation of the register you get to examine, so a second run is a different book rather than the same book with new dialogue. Wren Calloway kept the house for nine years, paid in a room and a line in the ledger every December, and she makes bread at midnight because the kitchen is the only room the house does not listen in; she knows who is in room one. Della Marsh is 41, the county deputy and a widow who is not superstitious, and she wants the book to hand back three people or admit that it cannot. June Okonkwo Pratt is 29, the only paying guest, recording everyone on cassette, and she believes the register is an account rather than a curse. Tobe Renner, 36, works gutters and a furnace with a copper still in the barn, paying a debt his brother left in room seven, and he has counted four hundred attempts to leave town. Entropy Digital released the game on October 29, 2026, and the latest version here is Build 26339927, with patch notes about cassette playback, a route flag and text scaling. Steam notes intimate scenes with nudity and a switch that turns that content off, and macOS is supported alongside Windows.
