About The Game

Cat a Loop is a tactical auto battler with roguelike elements created by the independent team Kitten Purradise Studios. The peaceful world of brave kittens faces its darkest hour, because a portal has opened from the depths of a mysterious place called the Abyss, and hordes of terrifying creatures keep pouring out of it. The finest furry heroes gather to answer the threat, and the player takes command of this unlikely resistance with a simple goal, to fight through the invasion, uncover why the gate appeared, and seal the cursed portal forever. Every expedition into the Abyss brings new dangers and new discoveries, and each failed run pushes the story a little closer to the truth behind the catastrophe. The project continues to grow in early access format, so the adventure expands as the studio adds content and listens to feedback from its community.

The gameplay combines hands off tactical battles with deep preparation between fights. You choose from twelve feline heroes, each with an individual combat style and a specific role on the battlefield, then arrange your squad and watch the clashes unfold automatically while your decisions about formations and equipment decide the outcome. More than two hundred pieces of gear and over twenty passive abilities allow for enormous build variety, and clever combinations turn ordinary cats into monster slaying machines through powerful synergies. Maps are generated randomly, so no two runs follow the same route, and four distinct biomes hide their own secrets, enemies, and resources. Opponents behave according to readable patterns, while dangerous bosses at the end of each area demand a fresh approach and a well tuned lineup. Between expeditions the player experiments with item combinations, unlocks new abilities, and adjusts tactics, which creates the classic roguelike loop of failure, learning, and steady improvement. The result is a challenging but friendly strategy experience where cute characters hide a genuinely hardcore tactical core.
