About The Game

Sunken Realms is an engaging action RPG dungeon crawler with rogue lite elements that follows a heartfelt and personal story of a young adventurer named Alric. The main character embarks on a dangerous journey into Aedaria, a massive underground city that was cursed by the gods decades ago and fell into complete darkness. Alric is searching for answers about his missing father who ventured down into the ruins years ago and never returned. The core loop invites players to descend into the eerie depths, explore atmospheric locations, battle dangerous monsters, and hoard gold and crafting supplies. The sprawling underground is split into several distinct sections made of numerous hand crafted rooms that are procedurally rearranged every time you enter, ensuring that no two layouts are ever the same.

The primary gameplay mechanics blend fluid fluid real time combat with a rewarding progression loop centered around your surface camp. Players enjoy deep tactical freedom by mixing quick melee weapon strikes and ranged bow attacks while mastering long forgotten magic spells to defeat aggressive entities. Successfully surviving a run requires knowing when to fall back to safety before losing your hard earned materials. Returning to the surface allows you to rest by the campfire, talk to your companion, cook meals, brew potions, trade goods, and forge better gear. By using gathered loot at the magical Soul Forge, you can permanently upgrade your base stats, enabling you to defeat powerful zone bosses, unlock shortcuts, and attempt deeper levels at much higher difficulties for greater rewards.
