About The Game

Akatori is an indie Metroidvania-style action-adventure game from Contrast Games. Players follow Mako, a young warrior nun from the Temple of the Firebird. To save her reality from the mutating Amber Storms, ​​she must journey through five unique biomes filled with cavernous catacombs and floating structures. Mako is accompanied by a mysterious red bird, encased in a staff, which serves as both her primary weapon and a tool for exploration.

Using the staff, players can crush enemies, activate mechanisms, glide through the air, and slide down steep slopes to discover hidden paths. Combat includes over 20 types of regular enemies, as well as several challenging bosses. The visual style combines detailed pixel art with fluid 3D models, bringing the corrupted environments to life. Additionally, the adaptive soundtrack dynamically responds to what's happening on-screen, changing the mood from intense battles to peaceful moments.
