About The Game

70s-Style Robot Anime Geppy-X is a fast-paced, side scrolling 2D shooter designed as a tribute to Japanese mecha anime of the 1970s. Set in the year 197X, the story revolves around defending Earth from the invasion of the Space Demon Empire and their gigantic war machines Space Beasts. To fight back, players control the top-secret robot GEPPY-X, switching in real time between three distinct combat forms that balance speed, power, and functionality.

The campaign is built in the style of a true retro TV show: each episode includes introductory sequences, mid-show commercial breaks, previews for the next episode, and a credits sequence. The game features 8,000 frames of hand-drawn animation restored from original Betacam tapes at 24 frames per second, and retro filters that simulate the look of CRT monitors are available. The soundtrack features classic Japanese voice actors and legendary anime performers, along with localized subtitles in eight new languages. Modern enhancements for improved playability include rapid fire, game saves, instant rewind, digital tutorials, and trophy support. Replayability is further enhanced by six unlockable additional modes, including "Boss Rush," experimental episode variants, and alternate storylines.
