Twenty years after the virus changed humanity, one teenager still waits for his powers to wake up. Origin Story Season 1 is an adult visual novel from JDOR, set in a world reshaped by the outbreak known as MetaGen 92, or simply the Superflu.

The virus gave some people superpowers, left others with mutations and untouched the rest. In this society, abilities work as both a badge of honor and a measure of status, which puts the protagonist at the very bottom of the hierarchy. You play a nineteen year old whose name you choose yourself, and whose powers remain stubbornly dormant while everyone around him shows off extraordinary talents. Standing out this way was never part of the plan.

Daily life plays out in a school full of gifted students, where social dynamics become painfully literal. Living without abilities in a world of meta powered peers is hard, and the hero leans on a close knit group of friends who share his outsider status. Together they face challenges both ordinary and extraordinary, testing the limits of their relationships and of the norms around them. The bonds they build matter as much as the mysteries they stumble into.

The plot follows the protagonist as he searches for his place in the changed world. Situations range from humorous misunderstandings to difficult moral decisions, and superhuman abilities bring risks along with possibilities. The season format delivers this first chapter of a longer story, mixing everyday struggles with events far larger than any single classroom, and the choices you make color how each relationship develops. Nothing about this school is ordinary for long.

Developed and published by JDOR for an adult audience, the project combines visual novel storytelling with a superhero school setting, where being powerless may turn out to be the most interesting origin of all.
