The game The Core is an action adventure from Electric Machine Games about an autonomous AI core that awakens alone in a long forgotten facility with its memory completely lost. As a small rolling machine, you must uncover your true identity and unravel the purpose behind your creation. The journey leads through the decaying remains of a once active complex, where rusted machinery, dark corridors, and abandoned systems hint at a long lost past, and then out onto the surface, a beautiful but bleak dystopian landscape where humanity appears to have vanished. Scattered clues, old recordings, and half broken terminals slowly piece together the story of what happened to the world and the truth about your own design. The studio released the project in August 2026 and keeps refining it through an active development stage. The further you travel from your starting chamber, the more the facility reveals about its original purpose and about the world that grew silent around it.

The gameplay focuses on momentum, adaptation, and quiet exploration. As an autonomous core you have no guidance and no hand holding, so survival means learning to move: build up speed, read the terrain, and use the environment to overcome hazards and vertical obstacles. Progress unlocks upgrades that enhance mobility and open new ways through the facility, turning simple movement into a flowing chain of jumps, rolls, and boosts through dangerous territory. Light puzzle and shooter elements appear as you get closer to the truth, without ever turning the game into a pure action fest. Among the most interesting features are the wordless environmental storytelling, the momentum based control scheme, and the contrast between the grim underground facility and the silent open surface world. Upgrades and new abilities arrive at a steady pace, so the challenge grows together with your toolkit instead of spiking suddenly.
