About The Game

The game Vastophobia is a deep psychological first person horror adventure completely dedicated to exploring mysterious liminal spaces. The plot unfolds around a person who suddenly wakes up in a creepy and empty intermediate world called the In Between. The main character has absolutely no memory of how he arrived here or what actually happened to him. Your primary goal is to make your way through a chain of strange and shifting environments like abandoned hospital corridors or empty shopping malls find tracks of your missing family and uncover a chilling personal mystery of your past.

The gameplay is completely focused on exploring the surroundings searching for useful tools and surviving in conditions of heavy loneliness. The main mechanic of the game is built around using special devices like powerful torches for illuminating dark corners flares for creating temporary distractions and radiation detectors that help gauge the proximity of hidden anomalies. Of particular interest is that the developers completely abandoned cheap jump scares and sudden monsters popping out of the dark. The entire horror is built on heavy silence disturbing soundscapes and the knowledge that you can always see or hear the threat first before the otherworldly creature notices you.
