About The Game

Dissolution of My Self is an indie point and click psychological horror game developed by Pop Elephant Studio that explores themes of exile, trauma, and loss of identity. Set entirely in a small rented apartment, the game centers on Hector, the disgraced prince of a fallen kingdom, and his uncle Matvey, a former adjutant who now works as an unlicensed electrician to support them both. Bound by the suffocating bonds of codependency, Hector resolves to destroy his own self to escape the torment of his past.

You move through the apartment, examining everyday objects such as furniture, medicine bottles, and a television to uncover Hector's repressed memories and systematically erase them. The order of your exploration determines the pace and perspective of the narrative, and the objects you explore gradually blur and lose their function as Hector's identity disintegrates. Instead of branching paths, the game offers a single, fixed plot that evolves depending on how you unravel its narrative. Fully voiced by Netoru Irakusa and Tetsuto Furukawa, the game dispenses with monsters and sudden scares, instead creating a claustrophobic atmosphere defined by domestic oppression and dark psychological tension.

This game has a single ending; in-game options mainly affect how you read and experience the text, and do not unlock alternate endings or a second storyline.
