About The Game

BONEREADER is a dark card tactics adventure by Bonereaders, released under the DANGEN Entertainment label. The main character, mercenary Harlan Hill, dies on the electric chair and wakes up in a surreal purgatory, where every dispute is settled by gambling and the soul itself is the stake.

The setting is a shabby hut of an old shaman, seen after betrayal and execution. From this point the hero enters a bizarre afterlife ruled by its own laws. Every ghostly opponent at the table establishes personal brutal rules, so studying each rival before betting becomes part of the strategy.

The core gameplay combines card building with dice rolls. Players assemble a deck, throw mystic bones, and use found artifacts to raise the final score. Victory depends on how well cards, dice properties and item effects combine during a single hand.

Two game formats are available. The story mode reveals the detailed history of the protagonist death step by step, while the casino style challenge offers runs with rising stakes. Risky decisions can save the hero or finish him for good, and the atmosphere stays tense until the last roll.

Loadout variety supports the deck building. The game includes 30 unique card sets as the foundation of battle decks, 40 dice types with special properties, and 20 influential artifacts that transform the usual play style. Random curses add an unpredictable layer, because magical charms may alter card behavior mid battle.

Visually the game leans into hallucinogenic and oppressive scenery filled with mysticism. Gothic table settings and ghostly furniture keep the mood consistent through both modes. The mercenary collects special attributes from defeated mystical rivals, drawing closer to the answer about his own murder.

Justice in this dimension is counted strictly in numbers, and only the strongest earn the right to redemption. BONEREADER offers a compact challenge for fans of gambling deck builders with a story that goes deeper than the cards themselves.
