About The Game

One of them swims, the other flies, and neither of them can get home alone. Capy Castaway is a touching adventure with puzzle elements from Kitten Cup Studio, published by Big Blue Sky Games, about a baby capybara separated from his family by a sudden flood.

The little hero wakes up stranded on a mysterious island, surrounded by lost belongings and wandering spirits. His only company is Corvi, a caustic crow with sharp opinions, and the two of them strike a deal: find the way back to the home enclosure together. The mission grows as they go, because other stranded animals need rescuing before the island lets anyone leave.

Control is shared between both partners, and the campaign supports solo play as well as two players sharing one screen. Each character brings abilities that unfold during exploration. The crow carries useful items up to hard to reach spots, while the capybara digs up hidden caches and ferries the pair across water. Spatial puzzles lean on that teamwork, and the solutions come from combining what each one does rather than forcing a single skill through every room. The island keeps some doors for the patient.

The tone stays gentle throughout. The locations carry the nostalgic atmosphere of a Canadian metropolis, ridiculous citrus hats can be tried on purely for fun, and inhabitants in distress keep appearing along the way. Under the rescue story runs a larger current: the storm shook the balance between the natural world and otherworldly forces, and restoring it becomes part of the journey home.

Choices made along the route shape the plot and lead to several alternative endings. Kitten Cup Studio designed the project as a relaxing experience for family play or a soft first adventure, where cooperation is the real mechanic and the crow is allowed to keep the attitude.
