About The Game

Nightmare Frontier puts players in charge of a group of scavenger thugs in a ruined, thriving city in an alternate 1900s era. This tactical looter shooter tasks the Chieftain with leading his squad through a ruined metropolis. The main objective is to infiltrate dangerous locations, face off against the fear-incarnated creatures known as Dreadweavers, and collect valuable materials before evacuation. The success of the raid depends entirely on the value of the items you take out, with survival becoming the main condition for gaining profit. The gameplay in Nightmare Frontier requires thoughtful actions to defeat the otherworldly inhabitants of the city. The gameplay allows you to string together ranged attacks into special shots and requires you to manage a resource called Dread to maintain combat effectiveness.

In close combat, characters are able to push, parry, and combo attacks to control the flow of the fight. Each successful raid contributes to the progress of the campaign to liberate the districts from these creatures, which opens access to previously unexplored parts of the city and new nightmares. The decisions of the Leader directly determine the outcome of each raid into the cursed territory. This game forces you to constantly weigh the amount of loot collected and the growing danger of staying in the mission area. The decision to move deeper into the nightmare increases the level of threat, while opening the possibility of obtaining a more valuable reward. A timely decision to evacuate guarantees the survival of the squad and the safety of trophies, preparing the group for further raids into the city depths.
