About The Game

Spacelines from the Far Out — is a co-op arcade game with roguelike elements. The game was developed by the independent studio Coffeenauts and published by Skystone Games. Spacelines from the Far Out takes us to the distant future, when intergalactic travel has become a daily reality. We play as space ship pilots who run their own airline. For their company to thrive, crew members have to work hard to get passengers safely to their destinations. In the game Spacelines from the Far Out, we watch what is happening from the top down. The action of the game takes place aboard our spaceship, on which we travel through interstellar space, carrying various passengers.

Space is procedurally generated and the number of obstacles we’ll encounter along the way and points of interest or usefulness that often cause us to veer off course is dizzying. Among them, we will find asteroids that we will have to maneuver between, gas stations that we must visit from time to time so as not to get stuck in the void of space, or even stops where we leave selected tourists and pick up others. In addition, the matter is complicated by passengers who have their own characters, behavior and desires. The task is further complicated by the fact that piloting a ship implies the need to constantly run around the deck and control the equipment scattered across it.

All this means that travel through the universe is never quiet; in fact they are indeed chaotic. However, it is worth making the effort to get passengers to their destination safe and sound; they will not fail to give us a good rating, which in turn will encourage other space travelers to use our services. And if they are unhappy with us… well, then we will have to reckon with the possibility of a visit from a formidable inspector who, upon discovering a gross violation of safety regulations, may even close our company.
