Ash has fallen on Veyr since the oldest chronicles, and The Ash Remembers from Veyr Works turns that slow burial into an idle role playing game that keeps grinding while the window is closed. You walk into Emberwake as a stranger they call Wanderer and you do not remember why, which is all the setup you get before the work starts. The scope is quiet on the surface and enormous underneath: 110 enemies, 35 bosses across seven dungeons, 11 world bosses and 11 titans, all packed into a 759.96 MB install. Veyr Works develops and publishes it as a single purchase with no energy timers, and the release on Steam is dated September 7 2026 at 11.99 dollars. Ashfall is the spine of the whole thing. When a climb comes full circle you burn it down and start again. Ember ash, the growing ember tree, achievements, companions, titles and your Emberhome survive the fire across six build stages. Difficulty is yours to set: from the third Ashfall the Ember Grades decide how hard the endgame bosses hit, and the ladder keeps going until you fail. Twenty one skills climb to level 100, from mining, smithing, alchemy, gem cutting, runecarving and cremating to melee, ranged, summoning and defence. Six heroes each bring a strength and a matching weakness with light and shadow sides, and seven garments per hero arrive six by level and one after your third Ashfall. The Ash Wound drops a sunken city beneath the ground in five layers with 25 new foes, and the depth shifts mood every full hour, sometimes hitting harder and sometimes giving double loot. Mara would rather study than slaughter: 45 creatures can be caught alive, drawn on anatomy plates and dissected, and full research makes your blows land harder against that kind. Three ways to play cover most of the room, from a standard path where death costs gold only, through one life runs, to a hermit mode with no market where every ore and potion is made by hand. Fall three times to the same enemy and the game names the reason using your real numbers, then offers the next weaker foe with one click. Patch 1.7.1 brought the demands of the Ash, 120 Ash Book entries, gifts chosen at six crossroads and four new gemstones on top of the Ember Grades from 1.7.0, and the version on this page is Build 26390235, so read the patch notes before your first Ashfall.
