Your team is not normal: Lily, an invisible fairy who lets you read what people actually think, and three cat girl assistants hired for the expedition. Naga is the brat who jokes too far and argues about uniforms, Sumi is the clumsy one whose memory makes records useless against her, Noko is the sleepyhead who would rather nap than investigate. The problem the story keeps raising is your own magic, which lands on your companions harder than intended and turns fieldwork into a negotiation. Noko is the useful exception, because her natural resistance lets her walk into mining areas that corrupted crystals have made unreachable.
