About The Game

GOBBLE is an upcoming adventure role playing game from developer Dogs Understand that pays tribute to the classic charms of the RPG Maker 2003 era. The story begins on a sunny day when a character named Noel sits outside to rest while a friend brings refreshments, and suddenly holes tear open in the sky and pour a rain of delicious candies over the ground. Noel gobbles one treat after another until nothing is left and a magic door appears, dragging the hero into unknown territories full of strange sights and stranger company. The quest is a simple and mysterious one: find out where the candies came from, who sent them, and what hidden place they are meant to lead you to. It is a lighthearted and curious setup that does not take itself too seriously, and it sets the tone for a journey packed with oddball characters.

The gameplay moves through two distinct layers of play. First you run through small action packed mazes gobbling every candy in sight, a brisk and snappy warm up that tests your reflexes before each bigger area. Then you step into larger zones filled with non player characters to talk to and turn based battles that use the powers and items you collect along the way. The blend of a playful chase with classic role playing turns gives the game a rhythm that shifts constantly, so no two stages feel the same. New surprises wait at every level, and the world keeps its playful JRPG spirit while quietly rewarding players who poke into every corner and chat with everyone they meet. It is a game that aims to feel like a love letter to a beloved older engine while still standing on its own two feet. Its short length and cheerful tempo make it easy to pick up and play in a single sitting.
