About The Game

Magic Realm is a cooperative virtual reality objective defense game developed by Software Wolf and ITC Studio, first released on November 22, 2019. The Source Crystal of Eternium is in danger for the first time: a secret oath was broken, and a power hungry malicious witch now knows how to reach it. You stand against the invaders from another world, alone or with up to four other players online.

The gameplay is an endless wave based shooter that blends genres and scales with the number of players. You defend the Source Crystal against relentless invaders, using traps, puzzles, and spells. Distinct characters offer different play styles through a hero system, including a Wizard who masters elemental forces. The game is skill based, so the more you play the more fluent your movement and casting become. Waves grow increasingly difficult, and you compete for the top spot on a global leaderboard, seeing how long you can hold out. The cooperative design rewards teamwork, and the mix of defense, exploration, and spellcasting keeps every run different. The game scales with the number of players, so a solo defense plays differently from a full team, and other players can join at any time. Inspired by epic fantasy and tower defense, the endless waves keep escalating, and the leaderboard gives every run a reason to push a little further before the Source Crystal finally falls. Traps and puzzles scattered through the realm reward preparation, and spells give each hero a way to control the flow of invaders. Friends can join at any time, and the difficulty scales with the group, so a full team faces a far fiercer assault than a lone defender. The leaderboard tracks how long you hold out, and each wave pushes the defense closer to its limit. Solo runs test raw skill, while coordinated teams can divide the field and cover more ground.
