About The Game
It is 1926, ten years after a massive occult event stopped the Great War and transformed the world overnight. The dead walk, ghosts roam, and a gifted few can even cast spells. That world is the setting of Withering Realms, a horror action RPG from developer Moonless Formless.
The heroine is nine year old Clover, who wakes alone in a decaying mansion just a few miles from the epicenter of the occult event and soon discovers that she is a ghost. Her only companion is a strange, powerful doll made of wood, metal, and human remains. The mansion is a tomb, and the doll is the key. Clover's story is one of loss and discovery, and the game tells it through the silence of abandoned rooms and the noise of the things that still live in them. It is a guardian built for a world that has gone wrong, and it is the only thing standing between Clover and the darkness outside.
Together they explore the mysterious town of Penwyll and everything around it: vast cemeteries, tombs, caves, and rotting estates. The town of Penwyll is a character in its own right, and its history is written in the graves. The journey carries the pair through a landscape that keeps its secrets in the dark places, and every step reveals more of what the occult event left behind.
The project comes from the creator of Withering Rooms, and the horror action formula builds on that lineage. Combat, exploration, and the strange bond between the ghost and her doll guardian drive the campaign forward. The echoes of Withering Rooms are here, but the story is new, and the world is richer for it. The world is grim, but the story is personal.
Withering Realms arrived on 04 September 2026 and is aimed at players who like their horror atmospheric and their RPGs dark. The town of Penwyll keeps its gates open, and Clover is already on the other side.
