About The Game

The Reptilian Dynasty is in its final years, corrupt officials and local tyrants collude in evil deeds, and disasters erupt everywhere. From that chaos comes The Swashbugglers, a cartoon styled 2D roguelike auto chess game from developer Asmodeus Game and publisher Shuffle Play Games.

The tone stays witty and light hearted even as the world burns. The player's task is to recruit reptile heroes from the Greenwood Forest and form a team capable of ending the disaster. The Greenwood Forest is the last place where the old order still breathes, and the heroes who come from it carry the last hope of the dynasty. Every recruit joins with their own skills, and the roster grows through the run.

Combat plays out in auto chess form, and the strategy lives in preparation. Skills, equipment, and stele inscriptions all develop through battle, and the right combinations decide the fight before it starts. Planning the team composition before the fight is the real game, and the board reveals the rest. A time limit hangs over the campaign: the chaos causing leader must fall before it runs out.

The enemy side is a menagerie. Cunning swarms of cockroaches, venomous mosquito soldiers, and brainwashed giant flesh worms stand between the team and the source of chaos. Each battle reshuffles the odds, and the roguelike structure keeps every run feeling different. The campaign is a race against the timer, and every wasted turn brings the dynasty closer to its end.

The roguelike structure means no two runs follow the same curve. Recruits change, enemies change, and the plan that worked yesterday may fail today. The Swashbugglers arrived on 04 September 2026 and is aimed at players who like tactical auto chess with cartoon charm and a sharp sense of humor. The dynasty is dying, and the insects have their own ideas about who should rule next.
