About The Game

The management simulation MarginCall is built by Functionally Human, and it opens with a bold claim: every price in this market is discovered, not scripted. Hundreds of independent traders, each with its own money and mind, price a real order book inside a fully simulated economy. You can build a fortune, control industries, raid rivals, or get margin called into ruin.

The foundation is a genuine central limit order book, the machinery real exchanges run on. Every tick is a real trade matched between buyers and sellers, and a price only changes when two orders meet. Market, limit, stop-loss, and trailing-stop orders are all available, and you can go long, go short, hedge, or use leverage. The margin monitor never stops watching, and the moment your equity falls through the line, the game force-liquidates you. There is no difficulty slider.

The participants disagree for real reasons. Market-makers quote liquidity, momentum funds chase trends, value desks buy cheap and short the absurd, and bubble-chasers pay huge multiples for a story. Each trader works from imperfect information, skill, and bias, which is why the market misprices, trends, and occasionally breaks. When a hedge fund overreaches and blows itself up, you can buy it out.

Underneath the ticker runs a living economy across five blocs, with industry, commodities, labor, and consumer spending feeding what companies earn. Age, health, loans, property, and taxes all matter, and the universe runs on one deterministic clock. MarginCall was released on Steam on August 19, 2026, and the market plays fair.
