Developed by Madia Entertainment and published by ESDigital Games, Operation Matriarchy is a science fiction first person shooter that throws players into a brutal war between humanity and a twisted evolution of its own colonies. The setting is the 24th century, where mankind has united under the Federation of Earth and settled several distant worlds. One of those colonies, the planet Velia, became the stage for a catastrophe that changed the fate of the entire species forever.

Around the year 2350, a mysterious virus swept through the Velian population. It targeted only women, transforming them into aggressive killing machines, while the men were enslaved and reduced to resources for genetic experiments. The infected colonists evolved into a single hostile hive mind and turned against the Federation. The campaign opens seven years into the conflict. You play Senior Sergeant Paul Armstrong, a Federation soldier whose ship is attacked by the Velians, forcing him to take up arms against the swarm without hesitation.

Gameplay follows the classic first person shooter formula with a strong narrative layer. You advance through the planet, fighting wave after wave of Velian warriors while uncovering the secret behind the Velian anomaly and the origins of the human race itself. Battles demand attention to positioning and ammunition, as the enemy presses relentlessly and the environments shift from ship corridors to alien structures on the hostile surface of the colony world.

The campaign delivers a complete story arc with a defined beginning and ending, so players who prefer structured single player experiences will feel right at home.
