About The Game

Primus is a turn based tactical RPG with grid based combat, developed by Ethan Clarke and published by Stone & Steel. The game puts a small party on grid maps and asks you to plan every move, from positioning to the moment you commit to an attack.

Battles play out on a grid where position decides a lot. Getting the right angle, holding space and setting up attacks often separates a clean victory from a messy one. Each fight offers several routes to success, but a single misread of the situation can flip the result. The rules stay readable, so planning happens on the board, not in menus.

Class combinations form the heart of the roster. You can merge two classes into one hybrid unit, drawing skills from both. A Rogue and a Mage become a Shadow Wizard, while a Knight and a Priest become a Stalwart Cleric. The catch is that stats come from only one of the two classes, so you trade raw numbers for a wider toolkit.

The Nexus Beast adds a risk and reward layer. At key moments the party can join together and unleash this powerful unit. It hits hard, but it damages your own party the longer it stays on the field. Every turn with it alive is a gamble, and letting it linger too long can leave your group in grave danger once it disappears.

An Evil Mode extends replay value. After winning a battle you can replay it from the enemy side, earning extra rewards for your main party. This turns each completed map into a second challenge with a different perspective and a different set of goals.

Team building supports several directions. You can lean on heavy frontline pressure, ranged damage, control and setup, or a balanced squad built around adaptability. The dark fantasy setting frames it all with intelligent creatures of legend as your opponents, and the current Build 24687549 is a full release.
