About The Game

The Sinking City 2 is a story driven survival horror developed and published by Frogwares. It is based on the literary works of H.P. Lovecraft and takes place in an alternative United States of the 1920s, seen through the lens of a cosmic nightmare.

The game uses a third person camera for both movement and combat. Most of the action happens in the flooded megacity of Arkham, a network of water covered streets and half destroyed buildings. Every flooded block hides danger, and the route between safe ground and your goal is never a straight line.

Enemies come from the pages of Lovecraft's stories. Deep Ones, Mi-Go and cult followers appear throughout the city, and each type asks for a different approach. A varied arsenal helps you deal with them, but supplies are limited, so careful handling of what you carry becomes part of the survival loop.

Exploration and combat form the core of the gameplay. Optional puzzles are built into the locations, giving you challenges beyond direct fights. Level design rewards going back: areas you already visited can open new routes or hidden caches once you gain new skills or information. Studying the environment and analyzing clues found along the way helps you figure out where to go next.

The story moves through episodes filled with blood and cruelty, staying close to the tone of the source material. The main goal pulls you deeper into the flooded city and its secrets, while the atmosphere does the rest of the work.
