About The Game

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North Legacy Edition is a cooperative action RPG developed and published by Aspyr Media. The campaign covers a dark chapter of Middle earth, the war in the northern lands, while the main Fellowship marches toward Mount Doom in the south.

The story follows a new fellowship of three heroes. Eradan the ranger fights with stealth and accurate shots, Andriel the loremaster wields magic and healing, and Farin the dwarf crushes enemies in melee. Each character changes the way battles feel, and the choice of hero becomes part of the strategy.

The enemy behind the war is Agandaur. This Black Numenorean servant of Sauron gathers a massive army in the ruins of Fornost, and the goal of the campaign is to stop him before the North falls. The stakes sit at the level of a full land.

The journey crosses places from the legendarium. Rivendell, Lorien, the Lonely Mountain and Mirkwood appear on the road, and each location carries the familiar atmosphere of the books. Long time fans will recognize the world at every step.

Progression follows the classic action RPG pattern. Experience builds abilities, loot changes the equipment, and weapons with armor define the fighting style. The party grows through the whole journey, preparing for battles that keep getting harder.

Cooperation works for up to three players. Friends control the heroes side by side, and those who prefer solo play get full support with AI controlled companions. A special guest joins the hardest fights: the Great Eagle Beleram can be called for a devastating aerial strike.

The Legacy Edition includes all previously released updates and content, so the package holds the complete experience. The title fits fans of cooperative action RPGs and every reader of Tolkien who wants to see a lesser known page of Middle earth history.
