About The Game

JOI Lab VR is an adult virtual reality simulation from developer Caulino and publisher Multisekai, built around a direct, interactive connection between you and the character on the other side of the screen.

The premise plays with distance. Your friend Kiyomi controls the avatar Kimi, and Kimi is fully aware that you are both inside an online game, even though you are physically far apart. She frequently breaks the fourth wall, speaking straight to you and reacting to what you do, which gives every session a genuinely interactive, personal feel instead of a scripted routine. The longer she waits for you, the less patient she gets.

Communication in the game stays physical and simple. A nod of the head means yes, and shaking your head means no, so the dialogue flows through your own movements. The controls were designed for Meta Quest controllers first, with compatibility for other controllers as well, and hand tracking is supported in the OpenXR version through Meta Quest Link. The control scheme is mirrored, which allows one handed play and keeps the other hand free. As the developers note, if you have at least one hand, you can enjoy the game.

The presentation is intimate by design. The laboratory setting keeps the focus on the interaction, and the fourth wall breaks make the avatar feel present rather than canned. It is an experience aimed squarely at players with VR hardware who want company in the headset instead of another world to explore. Presence is the whole product here.
