Virtual reality has always promised us the opportunity to be inside the game and become a full-fledged part of it. But in practice, many games feel like just ordinary projects to which helmet controls have been screwed. JUST ONE MAN is a completely different case. The game was created by the Raikiri studio in 2026 and it shows exactly how the action genre should work in virtual space, when the developers clearly understand its strengths. The basis of the game is exclusively close combat. Forget about standing somewhere in a quiet corner and safely shooting from afar with a rifle. Here you will always have to be in the very center of events. You are left alone against dozens of enemy soldiers, and the only thing that stands between you and the final defeat is your own speed, reaction and accuracy.

Since this is VR, each of your attacks requires real physical movement. The stronger and more accurately you wave your hands, the better the result in the game will be. This makes the process incredibly lively and emotional. Each battle here resembles a full-fledged training. At first, you may make a lot of unnecessary movements and lose strength very quickly. But over time, you will begin to understand the rhythm, learn to block other people's blows in time and find the weak points of enemies. This is the same state when you completely forget that you are standing in your room with a screen on your head. You simply see the danger in front of you and react to it absolutely instinctively, like in real life. The game does not overload the player with unnecessary information or very complex interfaces. Everything is done here so that you can immediately get involved in the process.

Raikiri acted as both developers and publishers, so they had complete creative freedom of action and did not specifically add any unnecessary elements that would artificially slow down the pace for the sake of stretching the game time. You just start the game, take a weapon and start your battle. If you have a good VR headset at home and you really like the genre where you have to constantly hack and slash enemies and be constantly on the move, JUST ONE MAN definitely deserves your close attention. It's a very concentrated experience that leaves you with a pleasant physical fatigue and a strong desire to go back for another round.
