GRIME 2 is a surreal Metroidvania that challenges the genre's conventions with a unique enemy absorption system. Unleashing special tentacles allows you to intercept enemy attacks, instantly turning the enemy's power against them. Each successful assimilation expands your arsenal of available moves, turning the protagonist into a versatile machine of destruction. Overcoming complex spatial puzzles requires skillful combinations of acquired mutations. Encounters with massive bosses become tense tactical struggles on the brink of survival, forcing the player to constantly adapt their combat strategy. Accumulated biomass is spent on upgrading basic stats, guaranteeing a continuous increase in combat potential.

The environment is a bizarre mixture of pulsating organic tissue and cold minerals. At the center of GRIME 2 narrative is the enigmatic Formless One, who seeks to understand the nature of this grotesque dimension. This creature must descend into the deepest depths of an alien world in search of answers about its origins. A grim aesthetic of decay permeates every inch of this uncharted territory, creating an oppressive atmosphere of hopelessness. The inhabitants of this universe are striking in their deformed proportions and unpredictable behavior. Constant adaptation to harsh conditions dictates strict rules of survival among deadly flora.
