About The Game

Mask of Soul is a 2D Metroidvania game in which you play as Jeong-oh Chas, a guardian tasked with hunting escaped spirits after the boundary between the Underworld and the Living World collapses. Set in a dark fantasy world inspired by Korean mythology, the game features a vibrant oriental art style that reimagines traditional spirits and folklore under the glow of the malevolent Red Moon. The combat system is built around a precise parry system, requiring you to study enemy behavior and suppress their energy to deliver devastating counterattacks. A key element of the mechanics is the mask system: switching masks alters your stats, skills, and movement style to suit different combat scenarios.

As you explore four unique regions, you'll encounter environmental puzzles and secrets that become accessible only by acquiring new abilities. The world is filled with formidable bosses and awakened demons, requiring mastery of both timing and strategic mask combinations. Progression is non-linear, encouraging you to return to previous areas to discover hidden paths as you gain strength.
