You do not lead simple soldiers but broken humans rebuilt with technology and you can hear the quiet hum of their implants in the silence of your base. This tactical survival experience forces you to face the reality of a world that is falling apart while you maintain absolute control over your squad.

Victory in Deep Fringe belongs to the leader who treats the ground like clay instead of just relying on bullets. You do not need to attack a fort directly when you can dig beneath it and feel the earth tremble or wipe it away with explosives while breathing in the dust of destroyed cover. High ground provides more than an advantage because it gives you total power over the area where you can create hills to see every crack in the concrete and then push your enemies into acid pools. This deep environment manipulation makes every mission unique as you use the terrain itself as a weapon against biomechanical titans and swarming larvae that crawl under your armor.

Between missions you face a different kind of war where the screams in the clinic mix with the sound of tools as you install up to four cybernetic modules into each fighter. You decide their path through complex skill trees in Deep Fringe while wondering how much humanity is left behind those glass eyes. Dealing with factions like the Ember group means listening to lies over the radio and deciding whether to form an alliance or start a new war that will leave a permanent scar on history. When you are ready to create your own stories you can use the map editor to build new nightmares because in this world you are the surgeon cutting through the rot with your own will.
