About The Game

Red Rogue Sea is a pirate roguelike strategy game where the primary goal is not the pursuit of glory, but rather the quest to steer a battered vessel one island further than the last. Choosing a captain and ship at the beginning of the voyage determines the subsequent playstyle. The combat system is built on a turn-based structure and tactical deck building, where cards represent specific orders: from firing broadside guns and repairing breaches under fire to boarding. Any misstep can ruin the entire voyage, sending the player back to the pirate lair to start over.

The procedurally generated archipelago is not just a series of battles, but a network of small stories. The decisions you make shape the narrative, guiding the captain through various storylines, as encounters with adventurers, rogues, and simple survivors bring the world to life.

The game offers freedom of roleplaying: you can become a fearsome raider, a ruthless survivor, or a privateer with your own principles. As you progress, you unlock new ships and faction alliances, allowing you to develop fresh approaches to confronting Admiral White's fleet. A sturdy gunboat lends itself to slow firefights, while a fast and fragile vessel forces you to rely on cunning card combinations and maneuvering.
