About The Game

KIZUNA ENCOUNTER SUPER TAG BATTLE is a frantic arcade fighting game from 1996, remastered by Code Mystics for Steam. Set in a dystopian world facing apocalyptic threats, the game features 10 warriors and two ruthless bosses who join the fight for the future of humanity. Players can choose from eight returning fighters from the previous game, SAVAGE REIGN, as well as newcomers Rosa (the resistance leader) and Kim (a cane-wielding specialist). Boss characters King Leo and Jazu are also available in certain modes.

The core of the gameplay is intense team battles, allowing up to four players to battle simultaneously, a feature originally limited to individual arcade consoles. Online multiplayer runs on rollback netcode, supporting lobbies of up to 9 players with various tournament formats for seamless competitive play. An enhanced practice mode includes training tools like speed selectors and hitbox previews to help players master brutal combos and prepare for challenging matches.

This Steam edition is a comprehensive reimagining of the classic arcade game, complete with a built-in jukebox featuring the original soundtrack and a variety of achievement-based challenges.
