The Living Remain is a first-person zombie shooter. It is designed for virtual reality helmets and motion controllers. Compared to other VR shooters, this indie project stands out due to the ability to move completely and smoothly. The walking system is adapted for different gadgets. The title also boasts well-developed physics. Here, the character’s limbs do not pass through objects, but push them away. And when hitting the windows with your hands, the glass breaks. The protagonist is also able to climb, interact with the environment, collect loot, break some obstacles, and knock down door locks. From the components found, he can craft ammunition and make upgrades for his equipment.

The Living Remain has a story campaign. The story is dedicated to the adventures of Grant Montgomery. A former military man is trying to find his relatives in a world where a zombie apocalypse happened. During the journey, he meets Alex. This girl helps the hero reunite with his family, coordinating him via radio. The arsenal includes various one-handed and two-handed firearms. There are pistols, machine guns, submachine guns, shotguns, assault rifles. These guns can be upgraded. At certain moments, the hero is also allowed to shoot from a stationary multi-barrel machine gun. In close combat, the protagonist cuts up the undead with a knife. Battles with the walking dead are accompanied by meat and blood.
