In Lonely Mountains Downhill, everything is quite simple — controlling a character on a mountain bike, the player rides through simulated tracks, overcoming obstacles, and launching off ramps to gain speed. Each track presents new challenges, and aside from visual differences, it offers various obstacle variations. Initially, each location has a trail that is considered the nominal route. However, it is not mandatory to stick to it. In Lonely Mountains Downhill 2023, players can cut the path, jumping down slopes or using alternative routes to shorten the distance. All tracks share the same concept they involve descending, resulting in almost always high speeds.

Therefore, it’s crucial to maintain control over the bike to avoid losing control in turns. At the very beginning, there will be a short tutorial to master the basic mechanics, after which levels will follow one after another. The project includes multiple difficulty levels, allowing players to test their skills. Completing stages unlocks a new appearance for the character and a bike with improved characteristics. Depending on how quickly a run is completed, players can secure a position on the leaderboard, thus entering a competition with the best gamers.
