About The Game

Fire Emblem Engage is a departure from Three Houses, but the incredible sophistication and truly touching story make it an easy recommendation. It’s not often that a game has a breakout moment where it hits a whole new audience and then abandons much of what worked for the next installment in the series. Sure, Final Fantasy 7 was a cultural moment, but Final Fantasy 8 moved away from those characters. The sequel to The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, has been moved to the platform game.

Fire Emblem Three Houses may not have been on par with those original works in terms of impact, but as an introduction to the franchise on Switch, it has taken on the zeitgeist like no other Fire Emblem game before it. A big part of that was with three stories generating votes for the best character on the internet. While Fire Emblem Three Hopes has certainly added an extra layer to this particular universe, Fire Emblem Engage is heading in an alternate direction. It’s not just a new cast of characters and a new setting, though — it completely ignores a lot of what made Three Houses so memorable. And yet, it became my favorite record of the two.

• To boost performance on Yuzu emu, as soon as you get into the game press ‘ctrl + u’ to remove fps lock and subsequently unlock more FPS. (You can see the unlocked status next to your FPS counter)
• To boost performance on Ryu emu, disable the V-sync option either before boot up or while playing to see the FPS difference. (Screen tearing may happen, so beware)
• Test both emus and use the one which performs better on your system
• 100% Lossless, but NOT MD5 Perfect: encryption was removed for better repack size
• NOTHING ripped, NOTHING re-encoded
• Selective Download feature: you can skip downloading and installing of English or Japanese voiceovers
• Smaller archive size (compressed from cumulative 16.2 to 8.1~9.6 GB, depending on selected components)
