About The Game

Lake — is an open-world adventure game that, while telling a story about important issues, should give players a bit of relaxation in the first place. The game was developed by the independent Dutch studio Gamious, while Whitethorn Digital took care of its release. The action of the game Lake begins on September 1, 1986, when the main character of the game, a woman of about forty named Meredith, decides to take a break from her career in the big city. The protagonist arrives in her hometown Oak Providence, Oregon to replace her father as a local courier for the next two weeks. This will allow her not only to explore the surroundings and meet new people and problems that bother them, but also to refresh old acquaintances. How its future happens will largely depend on the decisions we make.

On the lake, we see the action from a third-person perspective. Traveling on foot or behind the wheel of a truck in the Providence Oaks area and admiring the picturesque landscapes, we deliver packages and communicate with the characters we meet. Among the latter, we will find both strangers and former friends of Meredith. Conversations allow us to make new friends and renew old ones, as well as learn about problems that are of concern to the local community and are involved in solving them. We also sometimes make decisions that are never black and white.

Interestingly, if at the moment we make a mistake, soon after the game we are given the opportunity to make corrections. This is important because the choices we make determine which of the three ends of the story we see. Lake has colorful, high quality graphics. The attention is drawn primarily to the lush vegetation that grows in the places visited. Everything is supported in a cartoon style, which can be reminiscent of Pixar animations.
