About The Game

With Bruisers 2D Boxing, FunOldGames and Halfbrick Studios build a pixel art sports RPG that treats boxing as a serious craft rather than decoration. The player starts as an unknown amateur and climbs through local bouts, professional cards and even bareknuckle circuits toward the top of the sport, and even the earliest opponents demand respect, because the amateur circuit already rewards anyone who studies distance and timing. The world around the ring is written without illusions: meals cost money, promoters want favors, shady dealings and a quiet mob presence shape many careers, and some consequences along this road turn out to be fatal. The charm of the product lies in contrast, because behind the charming pixels hides an honest simulation of hunger, pressure and ambition that real champions of the sport know too well.

gameplay combines real fighting technique with long term career management. Inside the ropes the player slips punches, lands counters, moves the head and controls distance to break the opponent down, and the pixel art hides none of the impact of each exchange. Outside the ropes every single day matters: meals demand planning, weight needs watching, vitals require monitoring and a job has to be held down between fights. The boxer ages in real time, injuries accumulate with every hard bout and a career full of battles leaves visible marks, so each accepted offer, each camp decision and each unlucky pairing compounds across the years. Rivalries grow along the way and sometimes become personal. Backyard shows, dingy gyms, smoky clubs and packed arenas all feel different, and the quick play mode lets a friend join from the couch next to more than 100 fighters inspired by real boxing history. The pace of a career is deliberately slower than in arcade fighters, and that patience becomes the main reward of the whole experience.
